Bargain Files: Nikon 1 J1 digital camera for $498

Nikon 1 J1, black and white models

Harvey Norman copped a bit of criticism in the manner in which they finally tackled the online world, but with this Nikon 1 J1 twin lens kit they hit the online retail G-spot.

The Nikon 1 J1 is the company’s first tilt at the new mirrorless interchangeable lens camera market (MILC) – a new format somewhere between the compact digital camera and the digital SLR. More toward the latter I would say. It offers the ease of a ‘point and shoot’ camera, but with something of the advanced manual control features of digital SLR.

When the Nikon 1 J1 was released late last year, it sold for an RRP of $899. Harvey Norman have the Nikon 1 J1 twin lens kit (as pictured below) for $498, in both the black and the white colours. The catch? None really. It’s a limit of one per customer, and it is only available until April 3 (tomorrow), or until stocks last, and only online from the Harvey Norman website.
