Denon D-X1000BD Blu-ray mini home theatre system
The Denon D-X1000BD takes the company into a new product area, a two-channel Blu-ray mini home theatre system.
The Blu-ray player/receiver component of the system plays Blu-ray discs, including those with BD Live capability, plus DVDs and CDs. In the front are two USB ports, one supporting iPod/iPhone digital direct play and the other accommodating USB memory.
If you want to listen to the system via headphones, the inbuilt Dolby Headphone signal processing provides 5.1 channel surround sound through any pair of headphones.
The player/receiver pushes 70W to each of its two channels, through Denon’s CX stereo series speakers.
Add an optional Denon ASD-51N/51W docking station, and can access network streaming content.

My pleasure Scott, love this website, I love technology too, in particular audio and computing technolgy.
Yes I have had an awesome experience with my Denon, I did a lot of research and spoke to many people before buying this unit, I wanted quality in a compact stylish unit, and I got in spades with the Denon DX 1000.
I completely agree regarding Blu-ray bonus content, almost not worth it. Even the entire current Blu-ray movie range can be disappointing, there are many great movies and other shows not on Blu-ray. However the Blu-rays I do have play amazing on this unit and has definitely been a new joy in my life. It’s not just the video quality that impresses me, Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio is s significant step up from Dolby Digital and many people either don’t realise or don’t have the ear to pick up this quality and detail. I am hearing things in songs and movies now that I never heard when I played this stuff on lesser systems in the past, everytime it happens brings a smile to my face.
Anyway, thanks for your response, and keep up the great work.
Regards,
Simon.
Thanks Simon, your kind words are very much appreciated! If there’s anything you’d like to see covered, let me know.
In the meantime, I will envy you your home theatre receiver. No such tech luxury here… yet.
I have one of these Denon DX 1000 blu ray mini systems. To sum up, high quality construction, looks fantastic, easy on screen dsplay, very powerful, great picture, amazing speakers and incredibly detailed and rich sound for a compact system. A mind blowing unit, me and all of my friends are stunned by the house shaking power and detailed quality sound. Highly recommended!!!!
Thanks for dropping by and commenting Simon. Great to hear you’ve had a good experience with the Denon. Now if only the film companies would up the stakes and give us more great bonus content on Blu-ray discs. I think for the most part the bonus content offerings are pretty damn ordinary.
