Nifty MiniDrive: more storage for your MacBook

Nifty MiniDrive, inserted in the SD card slot of a Mac

Here’s a neat little idea. I don’t know about you, but I very rarely use the SD card slot on my MacBook Pro. Upon the release of the initial MacBook Air, the inventors of the Nifty MiniDrive wanted to add some storage to what they thought was a model that was a little light on in that area.

The Nifty MiniDrive is not so much a mini drive, as it is a case, or adapter, that becomes a mini drive. The case accommodates an up to 64GB microSD card, that you pop into the Nifty MiniDrive, which you then pop into a MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Pro Retina. Depending upon your model of Mac, that would be one of the three models of Niftyness – the Nifty MiniDrive Pro, the Nifty MiniDrive [Air], or the Nifty MiniDrive Retina.

I should add, the actual storage component of the equation is not in the package. You will need to buy a microSD card to pop into the Nifty MiniDrive.

*Yes, I know this is another Kickstarter project. I didn’t know that until I’d started looking into the Nifty MiniDrive. I promise the next story will be a non-Kickstarter.
