HTC Desire Z many screens competition

COMPETITION CLOSED

TechStyles has, thanks to HTC, two HTC Desire Z smartphones to give away, each valued at $699.

The HTC Desire Z is a 3.7 inch touchscreen and slideout QWERTY keyboard phone, running on Android Froyo (aka Android 2.2).

The phone has a 5-megapixel camera with auto focus and flash, and will record 720p HD video.

Surf the web and you’ll see all of it, as the Desire Z has no problem with Flash content.

Wirelessly share music, movie and photo content to your TV with DLNA, and the Locations mapping app is in-built, with places of interest, directions and turn-by-turn navigation. All this, and more, is within the palm of your hand with the HTC Desire Z.

For a full list of the phone’s specifications, read TechStyles’ HTC Desire Z preview (page will open in new window).

How to enter

1. Subscribe to the TechStyles newsletter. Click here to subscribe (page will open in a new window). To be eligible to win you must be an active subscriber at the time of judging.

2. Scroll down this page, to the ‘Leave a Reply’ section, provide your full name (that’s first name and surname!), and a valid email address, and leave an answer to the following question:

Tell us in 30 words or less what keyboard would you use on the HTC Desire Z – the slide-out keyboard or the touchscreen keyboard, and why?

Entry is open to all permanent residents of Australia.

The HTC Desire Z competition closes at midnight AEST, 28 July, 2011. Click to view the full HTC-Desire-Z-competition-terms-conditions.

  1. Lisa Abejja says:

When in a rush I’d lazy touch-type. When relaxed and playful i’ll slide out the keyboard. Mood depending both would be fun

  2. Deane Mitchell says:

I could handle either, as my old Nokia 6120 is like a 75 Kingswood that’s done 300,000kms…..I’d love a Smartphone & I could jump ahead of my brother – who has the HTC Wildfire ;->)

  3. Lesley Walker says:

Slideout as I seem to mark my screen far too much which in turns makes for hard reading so slideout is best forget the rest

The touchscreen as I love how far technology has come. And my fiance would love the keyboard :-) good luck everyone

Definitely the touchscreen keyboard, the less excess baggage the better!

  7. Debra Marr says:

IPhone Naaaaah! The touch is not for me.
Each mistaken push is irritating… soooo furry!

a qwerty keyboard makes me happy.

  8. Adam Joy says:

To just have a phone that would slide down into a key pad, or have the option to touch it, that sounds dirty, would bring me into the 21st century.

Has to be the touchscreen keyboard coz SWYPE is the fastest way to enter text…

I’d go both ways, swype has changed the face of touch keyboards but my thumbs still need dual-wielding practice to master a well-designed qwerty, and Desire Z looks like it

With long bling nails touch screens a chore! ;)

  25. Andrew says:

The slide out keyboard, I’m still clinging on to my youthful days learning to touch type on a manual typewriter but yet embracing the new technology

As a relative late comer to the “tech” market, I would choose touch screen keyboard. I love everything tactile…so, for me, touch is good! Thanks for the choice. :-)
