Back to the Future trilogy soon to fly on to Blu-ray

Back to the Future

The first ‘Back to the Future‘ film debuted in the cinemas all the way back in the past that was 26 October, 1985. Twenty-five years later that film, and the two sequels it spawned, the creatively-titled ‘Back to the Future Part II’ and ‘Back to the Future Part III’, are going on sale in high definition Blu ray format. That’s 88 miles an hour DeLorean on your 1080p screens!

Highlights, apart from the always enjoyable three films are:

Interactive Blu-ray bonus features

I don’t know about you, but one reason I like Blu-ray, apart from the better picture and sound, is that the greater storage capacity on the disk means more stuff! Not only more stuff, with Blu-ray players that have internet connectivity, you can gain access to content and features not on the disk, but out there on the web.

On this ‘Back to the Future’ 25th Anniversary disc the interactive Blu-ray bonus features include:

There’s a lot more on offer, mini documentaries, behind the scenes material, alternate ending storyboards, music videos and more.

Price and availability

As stated at the top of this article, the ‘Back to the Future’ 25th Anniversary Blu-ray edition has a worldwide release date of 27 October, 2010. So with our little position on the International Date Line, the movie goes on sale in Australia a little ahead of most of the world.

Price? Well that hasn’t been released yet, so watch this space!
