In more 2013 EISA Award news, the Bowers & Wilkins Panorama 2 Soundbar has picked up Best Product in the European Home Theatre Soundbar category.
The case of the Panorama 2 is made from mirror black stainless steel skin, and the speaker grille is black steel mesh. The devices measures 125 x 1100 x 181 mm (H x W x D), and weighs 14.1kg.
Behind the speaker grille are 2 x 3.5 inch subwoofers, 2 x 3 inch midrange, 4 x 3 inch surround channels, and 1 x 1 inch metal dome tweeter. Power output is 1x 50W (subwoofers), and 5x 25W (centre/ surround).
Connectivity includes 3 x HDMI inputs, 1 x HDMI output (supporting ARC), 1 x 3.5mm Analogue/digital combi and 1x 3.5mm mini jack: RS-232 service connector.
EISA judges said that the Panorama 2 has “The perfect mix of style, convenience and audio quality, best for its acoustic performance, discreet design, great connectivity and intuitive proximity-sensing user interface.”
Argue all you want about the merit of the soundbar as a product category, but there’s no doubting that they are superior to pretty much all in-built TV speakers. There’s also no doubting that the Panorama 2 is a great-looking bit of tech.
The Bowers & Wilkins Panorama 2 Soundbar is available in stores now, at an RRP of $2,499.
