Earlier this week we had the iPhone 4 skin kinda like a Leica, and today we have a digital camera that looks a little Leica-like, the FujiFilm FinePix X100.
The X100 is its made from magnesium alloy, with metal buttons, and a leather-like wraparound – this material was chosen as Fujifilm felt it was a harder-wearing material. It’s a 12 megapixel camera, with a APS-C CMOS sensor, and shoots HD 1280 x 720 pixel video at 24 frames per second with stereo sound recording.
One the left-hand side of the body is the switch that controls the three focussing options – two autofocus modes, AF-S and AF-C, best used for static and moving image respectively, and manual. Select manual focus, and adjust focus via the focus ring around the lens barrel.
One feature photographers might find handy is that when switched on the X100 retains the settings it had when the camera was switched off previously.

Pricing for the Fujifilm FinePix X100 is yet to be announced. The camera is expected to go on sale in February 2011.
