It would have been George Harrison’s 69th birthday this week, on February 25, and the occasion is being marked this year with the release of an iPad app, called ‘The Guitar Collection: George Harrison“.
The app will showcase George’s private collection of guitars, tell the story behind the purchases, what tracks they were played on, any modifications he made, and what was unique about their sound. Also on board is George’s son Dhani and TV host Conan O’Brien, playing the guitars and talking about their sound, plus Ben Harper, Gary Moore, Josh Homme, and Mike Campbell.

The GeorgeHarrison.com website has the release date of The Guitar Collection: George Harrison as tomorrow, February 23, for US$9.99. There is no mention of whether or not this is a worldwide release date, so there is also no mention of Australian pricing.
UPDATE: It looks like it is a worldwide release. The Guitar Collection: George Harrison is on the Australian iTunes store, and costs $10.49.
