HTC Desire – price and availability announced

The HTC Desire, the latest Android smartphoneHTC and Telstra today officially announced price and availability of the new HTC Desire, the latest Android mobile phone from the manufacturer with a fast-growing reputation for putting the smart into smartphone.

From today you can pre-order the HTC Desire from the Telstra website, but it will be in Telstra stores from April 27, and Telstra has a three-month exclusivity on the phone.

The Desire is running the 2.1 version of Android, and the latest version of the HTC Sense user interface, which is both speedy and flexible.



HTC Desire price

The HTC Desire is available on the Telstra $49 Cap Plan for 24 months, with $0 upfront, making the minimum total price $1,176. If you want to buy the phone outright, the RRP is $768. Telstra customers can also take the phone on other plans and pay off the $768 over 12 or 24 months.

And all of this running on Telstra’s fast, and wide-reaching – though you do pay a premium for these – NextG network.
