The Droid Life website published 12 images of a new HTC phone, the HTC Thunderbolt, ahead of the smartphone’s proper launch at CES, the world’s biggest and best gadget show, taking place in Las Vegas, in the first week of January.

There’s not a lot of detail yet. The phone will run on Android, has a 4.3-inch screen, and according to HTC’s sign-up page for information on the Thunderbolt, is a 4G network / Long Term Evolution (LTE) phone.

As you can see in the photo above, the HTC Thunderbolt has a neat feature on the back, with the metal strip proclaiming the phone ‘with Google’ turning into a kickstand. Droid Life have also said that there “is a surprise behind the kickstand”. It looks like the perforated metal sometimes used to cover a speaker, but given that it’s at the back of the phone that would seem a little odd.

All will be revealed at the 2011 International CES (Consumer Electronics Show), running from January 6 – 9.
