Nokia’s E7 – its next flagship smartphone?

The rumoured Nokia E7, formerly guessed to be the Nokia N9

The rumoured Nokia E7, formerly guessed to be the Nokia N9

The rumour mill on just what will be Nokia’s next flagship smartphone has been running hot for a while now. Until this week, it was thought to be another N-series phone, the N9, but there’s a lot of noise around now that the new flagship model will be the Nokia E7.

You can see in the supposed leaked picture above, that this rumoured phone has a QWERTY keyboard. No suprises there, the ESeries phones sported these before. But in addition to QWERTY, the E7 is said to employ an AMOLED touchscreen. This would then be the first in the 5 years of existence of the Nokia ESeries phones to use a touchscreen interface.

It’s also said that the E7 will run the Symbian ^3 operating system, just like the soon-to-be-released Nokia N8, and have an 8 megapixel camera.

It’s all conjecture at this point, but all may be revealed at Nokia World 2010, taking place in London, from September 14.
