Nokia E7 smartphone preview

Nokia E7 smartphone, front angle with the keyboard open, plus the front and side view

Here’s the Nokia E7, the latest smartphone from the Finnish mobile phone giant, in some stores as of today. It’s been quite a while between smartphone releases for Nokia, and this is the first since the announcement of Nokia and Microsoft dating each other.

Begging the question, will this be the last of a purely Nokia phone, running on the Symbian operating system? Time will tell.

Aside from whether you like the E7’s Symbian^3 operating system, it certainly looks a well-specced phone. It has an 8 megapixel camera, that will shoot 720p video, has 16GB mass memory and 350 MB internal memory, and it’s Flash-friendly, so you can view all of the web on the E7’s 4 inch AMOLED touchscreen. If you don’t like a purely touchscreen interface, the E7 has a slideout QWERTY keyboard. See below for a more complete specifications list.

At the release the Nokia E7 will be available in either the dark grey or silver white colour way, while blue and orange will be added to the range later in 2011.

Nokia E7 release date and price

The Nokia E7 will go on sale on Optus and Vodafone networks in April 2011. The RRP of the phone is $929.
