I’ve been writing stories about the Notion Ink Adam tablet computer since about April last year. In the interim there have been tales of progress, excitement of concept, delay and content deals. There has even been talk that the Notion Ink Adam would never happen, that it would be vapourware. I’m happy to say that assessment was wrong. The product has been made – as proof, see below shots of the product on a pallet, and in its box.

The first shipments have been sent to customers, those in the USA and Europe who placed their names on a waiting list. The telecommunications regulatory bodies in these two regions, the FCC and CE respectively, have approved the Notion Ink Adam.

  • 3G version with 10.1 inch touchscreen Pixel Qi screen (both backlit LCD and e-ink display technology) – US$549

I’ll write more in the coming weeks about availability, price and final specs and options, but I am very pleased that what sounded like a promising piece of tech has, after a long and difficult birth, and from a new player in the computer biz, has made it into production.
