Roberts SolarDAB2 digital radio – runs with the sun… & more

Roberts SolarDAB2 digital radio, white, on kitchen bench

The Roberts solar DAB 2 digital radio is a clever product, allowing you portable access to digital and FM radio, plus provides a number of options to power your digital radio enjoyment.

Of course the solar panel on top of the solarDAB2 powers the radio, or you can use 3 normal or rechargeable AA batteries, or plug it into a power point. But what the solarDAB2 can also do, at the flick of a switch, is charge any rechargeable AA batteries you have inside the device. Rechargeable batteries will also charge if you have the radio plugged into a power point.

At full charge, batteries will provide power for up to 20 hours. Of course if the sun is out, the solarDAB2 will run without the need to access the charge from the batteries.

In addition to picking up digital radio, the solarDAB 2 also receives FM radio. A line-in socket will allow you to use the solarDAB2 as a speaker for any iPod or portable AV player you plug in. And to update the software, a USB socket is provided.

The Roberts solarDAB2 is available in black, white, red and green, and sells in the UK for around the £80 mark.
