Star Wars and Xbox 360, together at last. Soon.

Xbox 360 Star Wars Kinect bundleWhat we have here is the limited-edition Xbox 360 Star Wars bundle. It was to have gone on sale before Christmas, and was to have been sold for $599 RRP.

Alas, the game for which this bundle has been compiled, Star Wars Kinect, is not quite ready, so you’ll not be able to buy the game nor the console bundle, until early 2012.

In the box of the limited-edition Xbox 360 Star Wars bundle will be:

Microsoft and Lucasfilm worked very closely on this, not just to get the look, feel and sound right, but also I expect to make sure both brands were protected. Other than the look, the console inspired by R2-D2 and the controller by C-3PO, and the system sounding like R2-D2 when you switch it on, or open the tray, there are other hidden nods to Star Wars. Such as the famous phrase, “Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope.”, that has been printed on the inside of the tray.

My home AV / gaming set-up is missing an Xbox 360, and this bundle makes me think it’s high time to fill that void.
