Tour de France 2012 video game preview

The Tour de France is on our TVs now, and it’s soon to climb its way on to our PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 – that’s right, Tour de France 2012, the video game.

Just like the real thing, it’s a race over 21 stages, and you compete for the yellow jersey, green and polka dot jerseys. You can elect to play an individual stage, or the entire Tour de France. Overseas reviews indicate that it’s not a game that involves a stabfest of button play, rather it is a strategy game, and it does play long. You manage your rider/team’s energy levels for each stage, along with make alliances with other teams, and manage the riding styles of your team members to gain them points in the various jersey competitions.

By all accounts the game is a little hard to find in Australia, but it is out there. It’s available for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.
