BlackBerry Bold 9780 smartphone - front viewAnd in a bolter for the last new product release of the year prize, BlackBerry is in the running with today’s announcement of the BlackBerry Bold 9780 smartphone.

The phone runs on the latest Blackberry operating system, BlackBerry 6, and packs a 5 megapixel camera, built-in GPS functionality including BlackBerry maps, excellent battery life, and a WebKit-based browser.

At the time of writing the only carrier listing and pricing the BlackBerry Bold 9780 is Vodafone, with pricing as follows:
