Elipson Sound Tree – speakers as an art installation

Elipson Sound Tree speakers, in a hotel lobby

Elipson Sound Tree speakers, Fruits (tweeters) only

Elipson has taken its speaker range a little more toward the architectural with the Sound Tree. Designed by Maurizio Galante and Tal Lancman under commission from Elipson’s creative director Jean-Yves Le Porcher, and shown recently at Milano’s Triennale Design Week.

The Sound Tree is composed of two sections, the arboreally-pertinent Trunk and Fruits. The Trunk contains the subwoofer, the Fruits the tweeters. There’s a choice of two packages, containing either 6 Fruits or 12 Fruits. At the moment the Sound Tree is only available in lacquered red, but as demand increases, so too will the colour range.

This is this the first project for Elipson by this creative team, with more designs and products to follow.
