In just over a week Pioneer will have two new Blu-ray players in stores, the BDP-LX54 (pictured above) and the BDP-430 (pictured below). Both are capable of playing 3D Blu-ray discs, and both possess the latest HDMI specification, 1.4a 3D. Additionally both have internet connectivity via Ethernet ports, so you can download and play BD-Live content from the web, and with the purchase of the optional LAN adapter, connect to your wireless network. Note that the wireless capability will require a firmware update, which Pioneer claim will be available soon after the two new Blu-ray players are released.
Both the BDP-LX54 and BDP-430 Blu-ray players come standard with a remote control, additionally Pioneer has a free app available for download, turning mobile devcies into a remote control.
The major difference between the two is the the BDP-LX54 has a strengthened chassis and drive stabiliser to reduce vibration, and gold-plated terminals.
Price and availability
The BDP-LX54 and BDP-430 Blu-ray players from Pioneer will be in stores in late January 2011.
The BDP-LX54 will have an RRP of $599, while the BDP-430 will retail for $499.
