Back in April last year, in the very early days of TechStyles, I was very enthusiastic about an iPad app, Alice for the iPad. Alice in Wonderland, with the illustrations from the first edition of the book, but with the interactive and reactive nature of the iPad factored in.
In the last week a teaser web page has appeared for Push Pop Press, which makes it sound like a new range of digital books for the iPad and the iPhone will soon be released that will rival Alice for the iPad in terms of playfulness and inventiveness.
In Push Pop Press’ words… its only words:
Introducing Push Pop Press. Our team is bringing together great content and beautiful software to create a new breed of digital books. Books that let you explore photos, videos, music, maps, and interactive graphics, all through a new physics-based multi-touch user interface. Our first title will be available for iPad and iPhone later this year. We can’t wait to share it with you
John Gruber, of Daring Fireball has been lucky enough to have been invited to the start-up’s office, and his article on Push Pop Press is well worth a read.
