The Acer Aspire S3 ultrabook computer was announced at the IFA the other day, and is a device that competes directly against the Apple MacBook Air and the Samsung Series 9.
The Acer Apire S3 will be ne available in a number of configurations. All will have a 13.3″ HD LED display, and at its thinnest point will have a thickness of 13 mm. The processors in the series will be of the 2nd generation Intel Core i3, i5, and i7 variety. The cover material is aluminium/Mg-Al, and all up the weight of the Acer Aspire S3 is just under 1.4 kg. Pn a full charge the battery will provide up to 7 hours use, and if left untouched from a full charge the Acer Aspire S3 ultrabooks will hold at least some charge for 50 days.
Wake up the Acer Aspire S3 from a state of sleep, and Acer claim the computer will power up in 1.5 seconds, while from deep sleep it will do so in 6 seconds.

Australian price and release date
At the time of writing there is no information on price and release date in Australia, however Acer are set to locally launch the Aspire S series at a press event tomorrow.
