Only yesterday, in reference to the reportedly upcoming Sony PlayStation phone, did I say that while I thought the Sony PSPgo was a terrific little device, it had a truly terrible price. Cut to one day later, and, a year or so after launching, the PSPgo has been reduced in price from $499 RRP to $249.95 RRP.
So, is this clearing some dollar space for the addition of the PlayStation phone into the range, or just some common sense pricing?
As well the the price reduction, Sony have also announced that for a limited time you can download 10 free games. The games are:
- Assassins Creed: Bloodlines
- Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories
- Gran Turismo
- James Cameron’s AVATAR: The Game
- LittleBigPlanet
- MotorStorm Arctic Edge
- NEED FOR SPEED SHIFT
- Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice
- 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa
- WipEout Pure
Sony advise that in order to claim the free games:
… connect your new PSPgo to PlayStation Network and download the PSPgo theme from PlayStation Store by 31st January 2011. You’ll then receive a PlayStation Network voucher code via email so you can start downloading your ten free games.
