Xoo belts will charge your phone AND hold up your pants

Xoo phone charging belts, with a 2100 mAh battery inside the buckle.

There’s a whole range of accessories out there that will help you keep your trusty smartphone charged, and you can now add to the list a belt that will do so – Nifty’s range of Xoo belts.

Inside the belt buckle is a flexible, six-layer, 1300 mAh Lithium Ceramic Polymer battery, with another 800 mAh is packed into the buckle itself, so all up you have 2100 mAh of power holding up your pants… enough to fully charge an iPhone 6.

Included in the package is a microUSB-to-USB charging cable, while a Lightning adaptor is available as an optional extra for those packing an iPhone. The battery should fully charge via USB in three hours, which is about the same amount of time that the belt will fully charge your phone.

The Xoo belt is being crowdfunded on Indiegogo. It will be available in two styles, with a one selling for US$130, the other US$160. The belt can be pre-ordered now from the Xoo belt website, with delivery expected in July 2015.

While Nifty go into some detail of the safety of the battery tech, being so close to your skin and all, what it doesn’t guarantee is that you won’t have any trouble getting onto an aeroplane wearing your pants of power.
