Here's the top 10 most popular TechStyles stories for the year 2010, plus a bit of a thank you note from me to you for a great first year.

Nokia Kinetic concept mobile phone

Well, that’s pretty much it for 2010, the first year for the TechStyles site, which came into being on March 5.

I’d like to thank everyone for their support in 2010. Thanks for dropping by the site, for telling others about it, and for all your feedback. I look forward to an even bigger and better 2011, and I hope to see you all back here. You, and everyone you’ve ever met!

In the meantime TechStyles also has a Facebook page, and, if you’re game, you’ll find me on Twitter at my ScottFitzG page. I say game, because it’s not just gadgets there, it’s also family and happenings, opinions, and the occasional tweet where I work a little ‘blue’.

To paraphrase Douglas Adams, so long (for now), and thanks for all the clicks!

Top 10 TechStyles stories for 2010

Here they are, the top 10 stores on TechStyles for the 2010 year. Nokia clinched the 1 and 2 spots. The Nokia Kinetic story won by a long way, thanks to it being voted up on the Reddit and StumbleUpon sites.

You’ll notice the Reddit and StumbleUpon logos at the top and bottom of all articles on the TechStyles site – along with graphics for Facebook and Twitter , Digg and Reddit. Feel free to click on these, sharing the stories with the world, making me one very happy little web publisher!

Now, to the top 10 for 2010…

1. Nokia Kinetic concept mobile phone – it’s not a real phone, it just a design exercise. But it shows a refreshingly different way of approaching mobile phone features.

2. Nokia N8 smartphone preview – after a long wait after this phone was first announced, the Nokia N8 was in stores on November 1.

3. Ulysse Nardin Chairman Smartphone – from $12,000 to $50,000 – yes, you read the prices right! It’s what happens when the world of high-end watchmaking meets the smartphone.

4. HTC Desire GPS issue – fix expected soon – still popular, but more for the phone than the GPS issue, which was after all fixed… see below. You could also read all of our stories about the HTC Desire.

5. White iPhone 4 – none till the end of the year – Stephen Fry has one, but very few others do. It seems the problematic Gorilla Glass the iPhone 4 is made of has probems other than being a little shatter-friendly.

6. Henge Docks – docking stations for Apple Mac notebooks – another old favourite in our top 10. This is a smart design solution, and MacBook and MacBook Pro owners like the way it looks, and the way it works.

7. Xbox 360 Limited Edition Halo Reach package – a big name game deserves a customised Xbox 360.

8. Wenger Giant Swiss Army Knife – the knife world’s evil genius – one Swiss Army Knife, 87 tools, 8.75 inches wide. Little wonder it’s in the Guinness Book of Records.

9. Brennan JB7 – CD player with up to a 5,000 disc capacity hard drive – available to buy online only, this device has been a real success story, both in terms of its sales, and its longevity in the TechStyles Top 10.

10. Nikon D3100 digital SLR preview – this is a new, very highly-specced digital SLR camera, and while not cheap, it is a lot of camera for the price.
